Spencer Wu has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple biotechnology companies. Spencer began their career in 1995 as a Research Associate III at Systemix Inc., where they implemented strategies to enhance stem cell engraftment and developed cell-based assays for measuring hematopoietic progenitor cell function. In 2000, they joined Caliper Technologies Corp as a Research Associate III and was involved in evaluating enzymes and optimizing assay designs for high-throughput screening systems.

Spencer then worked at Alta Bates Summit Med. Center as a Laboratory Assistant, where they characterized and cryopreserved stem cells and established protocols for T cell enumeration. Spencer also held roles at PDL BioPharma as a Sr. Research Associate and Trinity Biosystems as a Sr. Research Associate, where they contributed to the development and validation of biomarker multiplex assays and anti-drug antibody assays.

In 2011, Spencer joined MedImmune as an Associate Scientist II, responsible for supporting preclinical and clinical studies through assay development and sample testing. Spencer then moved to AbbVie in 2013 as a Senior Preclinical Associate.

From 2014 to 2019, Spencer worked at Amunix Biopharmaceutical Inc. as a Senior Development Associate. In this role, they developed and optimized cytotoxicity assays, conducted immunogenicity studies, and developed potency assays for a therapeutic candidate.

Most recently, Spencer worked at Adverum Biotechnologies from 2019 to 2022. Spencer started as an Associate Scientist I and later took on the role of Senior Research Associate. At Adverum Biotechnologies, they optimized immunoassays, communicated results through reports and presentations, and contributed to troubleshooting assays for product releases.

Currently, Spencer is working at Annexon Biosciences as a Bioanalytical Scientist, starting in 2022.

Spencer Wu attended UCLA from 1989 to 1994, majoring in Biochemistry. It is not specified whether they obtained a degree during this time.
