Elizabeth Ergen, M.D. is from Atlanta, Georgia. She received a bachelor of science degree from Brown University in 2007. She earned a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 2012. Her internship in internal medicine and residency in dermatology were at Vanderbilt University. After completing residency in 2016, she was awarded a 2-year training grant in immunology from the National Institutes of Health working under Dr. Craig Elmets at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She moved to Knoxville in 2018, joining the faculty at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Ergen is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Medical Dermatology Society, the Society for Dermatology Hospitalists and the Society for Investigative Dermatology.
Dr. Ergen is trained in the full specialty of dermatology with a focus on diseases of the immune system and skin cancer. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Graduate School of Medicine. She directs the dermatology inpatient consult service at UT Medical Center. She is involved in research, teaching and service.
