Holly Ganz

Holly Ganz is the CSO & Co-Founder at AnimalBiome. Holly has a long history of studying microbiology, dating back to their time as an assistant project scientist at UC Davis from September 2013 to October 2016. There, they studied the microbiology of the built environment, characterizing microbial diversity using genetic markers and culturing methods. Holly then went on to study the microbes associated with periodontal disease in dogs as a visiting assistant project scientist at UC Davis from October 2011 to June 2013. There, they sequenced microbes using next generation sequencing methods and assembled genomes to characterize the role of sulfur metabolism in canine halitosis. Finally, they were a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley from March 2005 to September 2011, where they researched and specialized in environmental metagenomes collected from the Great Salt Lake.

Holly Ganz obtained their Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on the evolutionary ecology of insects. Holly also holds a M.S. in Marine Biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego and a BS in Biology from The George Washington University.

Holly Ganz reports to Carlton Osborne, CEO & Co-Founder. They work with Zhandra Entrolezo - Molecular Laboratory Manager, Jess Jarett - Computational Biologist, and Reginald Bowser - Chief Marketing Officer.
