Chris James has extensive experience in the mining sector, currently serving as the Director of GSP Engagement at AngloGold Ashanti since September 2011. Over the years, Chris has held various roles within the company, including Manager of Strategy, Acting Vice President of Mining, and numerous positions focused on planning and operations in open pit mining. Prior to AngloGold Ashanti, Chris worked at Paladin Energy Ltd as a Senior Mining Engineer at the Kayelekera Mine in Malawi and held several engineering and planning roles at Argyle Diamonds from 2003 to 2007. Chris’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from The University of Queensland, a Graduate Certificate in Mining Geomechanics from Curtin University, and a Certificate in Unrestricted Quarry Management from the Department of Mines and Petroleum WA.
