Bruce Smith has an extensive work experience in the engineering field. Bruce began their career in 1993 as a Project Engineer at DWFritz, Inc. Automation, where they were responsible for the design, build, and installation of custom automation equipment. Bruce was also involved in helping the company grow from 6 to 45 people and establishing company procedures in engineering. In 1999, they helped start a small company called RAPID4mation, where they had duties including sales, creating proposals, designing, building, and troubleshooting custom automation equipement. From 2002 to 2008, they worked at ATS Automation Tooling Systems as a Mechanical Engineering Manager and Mechanical Engineer. In 2008, they moved to ATS Systems Oregon, where they held the role of Mechanical Engineering Manager and Senior Mechanical Engineer. Finally, in 2016, they joined Andrews Cooper as a Director of Automation, Mechanical Engineering Manager, and Applications Engineering Manager.
Bruce Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University between 1988 and 1993. Bruce also has a certification as a Registered Professional Engineer from OSBEELS, though the license has expired.
