Richard Blight is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Ancestry since September 2013. Since mid-2017, Richard has spearheaded a significant multi-team, multi-vendor technology transformation for Ancestry's content supply chain business unit. Key accomplishments include managing numerous feature projects, reducing cloud costs by $500K annually, transitioning teams to enhance operational efficiency, and implementing a robust technology strategy. Prior experience includes roles at LexisNexis as a Consulting Software Engineer, Dell Perot Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, and various engineering positions at WordPerfect Corporation, ProModel Corporation, and IBM. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and an Associate of Science degree from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
