Walt Yates is an accomplished professional specializing in modeling and simulation with extensive experience in training systems and defense advisory roles. Currently serving as a Simulation Solution Advisor for Unreal Engine at Epic Games, Walt promotes the adoption of this premier open-source game engine for simulation applications across government and industry. In addition, Walt holds positions on the Board of Advisors at Anamo Inc. and as Principal at Walt Yates & Associates LLC, focusing on knowledge-based services for modeling and simulation. With a strong background in the United States Marine Corps, including roles such as Program Manager for Training Systems and Deputy for Modeling & Simulation, Walt has over seventeen years of experience in simulation-based training and technology transition within defense contexts. Walt earned a Master of Science in Modeling, Virtual Environments and Simulation from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
