Vishwanathan Rajaraman has worked in a variety of scientific roles since 2014. In 2014, they were a Summer Research Intern at Tata Chemicals Ltd. Pune Innovation Centre, where they worked under the guidance of Dr. Sumant Phadtare for two months. In 2015, they were a Summer Research Intern at the University of Ottawa, Canada, where they worked on a project about efficient nano-structured electrocatalysts for direct Ethanol/Ethylene Glycol fuel cells. In 2017, they were a Scientific Consulting Team Member at PBG Healthcare Consulting, where they performed market research and assessment of suitable business development opportunities for a Life Sciences company. Vishwanathan was also a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where they worked on developing biomimetic or bio-inspired micro- and nanosystems for a variety of biomedical, pharmaceutical, and environmental applications. Additionally, they were a Silanes Research Intern at Momentive and an Associate Scientist 2, Fermentation at Amyris. In 2018, they were promoted to Senior Associate Scientist, Chromatography at Amyris.
Vishwanathan Rajaraman received their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal in 2016. Vishwanathan then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Engineering in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, which they completed in 2018.
