Vanessa Rodriguez-Hernandez has been employed in various roles since 2016. Vanessa began their career as a Laboratory Assistant at San Francisco State University, where they organized and labeled chemicals, assisted with manual labor, and adapted quickly to different software used in collecting data. Vanessa also held roles as a Community Assistant, Conduct Board Member, and Ground Shop Assistant at the university. In 2017, they began working at the SFSU Mashouf Wellness Center as a Scheduling and Reservation Student Manager and Fitness Floor Staff. In 2021, they began working as a Laboratory Technician at Amyris.

Vanessa Rodriguez-Hernandez attended San Francisco State University from 2015 to 2021, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology.
