Shu Pan has been working in the biotechnology industry since 2013. Shu began their career at Genentech as a Co-op at Biologics Pharma Technical Development in 2013. In 2017, they moved to Dow AgroSciences as an Intern at the Bioprocessing and Bioengineering Research and Development. Shu then joined Cargill in 2018 as a Research Fermentation Scientist. Currently, they are working at Amyris as a Fermentation Process Development Scientist since 2019.

Shu Pan attained a High School Diploma from Nanjing Foreign Language School in 2009. Shu then attended The Johns Hopkins University, graduating in 2012 with a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Shu Pan furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018.
