Sam Brown is a Senior Technologist at AMSYSTEMS, where responsibilities include hardware development for a high-precision multi-laser patterning 3D printer and involvement in strategy and project management. Previously, Sam served as a Senior Hardware Engineer at WAAM3D, leading the development of the first commercial wire-based additive manufacturing system and securing funding through grant proposals. As a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge, Sam focused on net-shape metal 3D printing, achieving significant advancements in laser-assisted cold spray coating technology. Additional experiences include roles as a Production Assistant with The Naked Scientists, a Research Engineer at The Manufacturing Technology Centre Limited, and a Research Analyst at FTI Consulting. Sam holds a PhD in Additive Manufacturing and M.Eng. and BA (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge, along with A Levels in relevant subjects from Bablake Senior School.
