Tom Visbeek has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Tom started their career in 1985 as a Development Engineer at Nikhef and then worked as a Product Engineer at Canon Europe in 1986. In 1987, they served as a Product Manager at NKF, conducting market research on fiber optic cable and sensors. Tom then joined Duphar in 1988 as an Engineer, handling maintenance and repair of electronic equipment and developing test equipment. From 1989 to 1992, they worked as a Manager at Jesse Electro & Transformatorenfabriek. Tom then joined BEO in 1992 as a Lighting Engineer, providing support for lighting controls and computers in theaters and TV studios.
In 1997, Tom joined SARA where they held two roles: Datacommunication Engineer from 1997 to 2000, and Housing Officer from 2000 to 2010. Tom was responsible for housing management and data communication engineering. Tom then moved to Vancis B.V. in 2010 as a Housing Officer, handling housing responsibilities until 2013.
Tom's most recent role was as a Senior Installation Engineer at AMS-IX, starting in September 2013. Tom has a diverse range of skills and experience in engineering, management, and housing, demonstrating their adaptability and expertise in different industries.
Tom Visbeek attended R.K. Mavo Noord te Amsterdam from 1973 to 1977, where they studied subjects such as Dutch, English, German, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Tom then enrolled in Chr. MTS Patrimonium from 1977 to 1980, specializing in Energy Management and Systems Technology/Technician. Lastly, they pursued a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from HTS-A te Amsterdam between 1980 and 1984.
