Ed Smith has a diverse range of work experience. Ed is currently the Co-founder and Co-CEO of Amply Energy, Inc. since August 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Carbon Solutions at Solugen from January 2022 to January 2023. Ed also worked as an Independent Advisor in Climatetech from July 2021 to December 2021.
From 2019 to 2021, Ed worked as the Vice President of Indigo Carbon at Indigo, where they focused on promoting sustainable farming practices and helping farmers reduce and sequester carbon. Before that, they worked at Wayfair, first as the General Manager for Wayfair Canada from April 2018 to May 2019, where they grew the business significantly, and then as the Director of Casegoods from January 2017 to April 2018, where they managed a team and contributed to category growth.
Prior to their roles at Wayfair, Ed was with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2011 to 2017. Ed held several positions at BCG, including Principal from April 2015 to January 2017, Project Leader from October 2013 to March 2015, and Consultant from 2011 to September 2013. Ed also worked as a Summer Consultant at BCG in 2010.
Earlier in their career, Ed worked at The Bridgespan Group as an Associate Consultant from September 2007 to July 2009. Ed began their professional journey at Teach for America, where they served as a Corps Member from June 2004 to June 2006 and later as a Recruitment Director from July 2006 to August 2007.
Ed Smith received an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, which they attended from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English Literature from Colby College, attending from 2000 to 2004.
