Simon Cocking has a solid work experience spanning from 2001 to 2019. Simon co-founded MailGuard Pty Ltd in 2001, where they served as the Founder & Technical Director. During their time there, they developed the kernel of the service in Perl and handled all aspects of architecture, development, scaling, operations, and technical support. In 2015, they joined Savvi Inc. as a Senior Developer & Tech Lead, responsible for leading the development of their high throughput/low-latency SNMP Data Collector. Simon also managed remote developers, designed and built test frameworks, and automated CI in collaboration with the DevOps team. In 2018, they became the VP of Technology at Forticode before joining amplified ai in 2019 as the Lead Engineer. The precise end dates for their roles at amplified ai and Forticode are not provided.

Simon Cocking attended Monash University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computing with a specialization in Robotics & Digital Technology.
