Brandon Johns possesses extensive experience in cybersecurity, currently serving as an Advanced Threat Detection specialist at IBM since January 2022 and as a Cyber Incident Manager at Ampcus Inc since January 2021. In addition, Brandon has been an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland since March 2015. Previous roles include Digital Forensics Analyst at TEKsystems, where analysis of CrowdStrike endpoint detection alerts was conducted, and Penetration Tester at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, focusing on penetration tests across healthcare networks. Brandon's military background includes significant leadership positions as Senior Lead Threat Hunt Operator for the US Navy Cyber Protection Team, overseeing threat assessments and enabling operational capabilities ahead of schedule, and Cyber Security Analyst Supervisor at the Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command, where real-time security incident resolution was managed.
