Karen Castillo possesses a diverse background in non-profit work, specifically focusing on donor relations and human rights education. Currently, as a Monthly Giving & Major Gifts Associate at Amnesty International Canada, Karen coordinates the recovery program to ensure effective donor retention and tracks credit card processes. Previously, as a Monthly Giving Retention Coordinator, Karen improved retention rates and implemented a new recovery process that addressed a significant donor loss issue. Karen's earlier roles include facilitating youth leadership projects in Latin America and managing a successful digital campaign at Amnesty International, as well as gaining research experience at Simon Fraser University and the Refugee Law Project at Makerere University. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from Simon Fraser University.
