Katia Tovmenko has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Circulation Clerk at Johnson County Library. From 2011 to 2012, they served as an ESL and Computer Literacy Program Facilitator at the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County through AmeriCorps. In 2012, they worked as a Certified Adult TEFL Instructor at CEC-EPN Centro de Educación Continua Politécnica Nacional.
In 2014, Katia joined The Lord's Place as an Employment Specialist Supervisor, a position they held until 2016. Following this, they worked at the Urban Justice Center from 2016 to 2018, where they held the role of Immigrant Opportunity Initiative (IOI) Contract Manager & Development Coordinator. In this position, they managed a $4.5 million city contract for legal services for low-income immigrants in NYC, oversaw nine community partner sub-grantees, and served as a liaison to city funders.
Since 2018, Katia has been with the Corporation for National and Community Service. Katia began as a Program Officer from November 2018 to October 2019, then advanced to the role of Portfolio Manager from October 2019 to April 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Portfolio Manager. Further details about their responsibilities in these roles are not provided.
Katia Tovmenko obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in International Studies Co-Major from The University of Kansas, which they attended from 2007 to 2011. Later, in 2015 to 2016, they pursued further education at Florida Atlantic University and earned a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management.
