Cristián Benavidez has had a range of work experiences. Cristián has worked as an Admissions Ambassador at American University since 2023. In the same year, they also held the role of Director of Operations in the American University Student Government's Presidential Cabinet. Prior to these roles, Cristián served as the President of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) at American University in 2023. Cristián also held positions as a Secretary in the LULAC and as a Collegiate Liaison from 2021 to 2023. Additionally, they worked as a Ron Nirenberg Policy Ambassador at the City of San Antonio from June to August 2023. Before that, they served as a Policy Intern at Rails-To-Trails Conservancy from February to May 2023. In 2022, Cristián worked as an intern in the United States House of Representatives TX-12 and as a Policy Intern in the Office of the Mayor at the City of San Antonio. In 2021, they held the position of Front Desk Receptionist at American University and also worked as a Martial Arts Instructor/Community Leader at Kaizen Karate. Lastly, they served as a General Researcher in the American University Student Government from August to December 2021.
Cristián Benavidez earned a high school diploma from the International School of the Americas in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a language certificate specializing in Arabic Language and Culture from CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange in 2019. Currently, Cristián is pursuing an honors undergraduate degree in Pre-Law and Government at American University, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
