Frances Duffy

Substitute Harp at American Symphony Orchestra

Frances Duffy is a highly accomplished harpist with extensive experience performing in various prestigious orchestras and productions. Currently serving as Principal Harpist for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular since October 2022, Frances also holds the position of Second Harp for the American Ballet Theatre and is a substitute harpist for the American Symphony Orchestra. Other significant roles include Principal Harp for the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, and Wheeling Symphony, as well as a longstanding harpist for Pittsburgh CLO and a freelance musician since 1986. Frances Duffy has an impressive educational background, holding degrees in Orchestral Performance (MM) from the Manhattan School of Music, a Doctorate in Harp Performance (DMA) from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, and both a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Music (MM) in Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University.
