Marie D. Ternieden, Ed.D., IOM has extensive experience in various leadership roles in education and professional development. Marie D. is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the American Society of Human Genetics. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President at the American Council of Engineering Companies, where they created and led numerous educational workshops, conferences, and online classes. Marie also worked as the Vice President at the American Meat Institute, where they directed education programs and produced training videos for industry professionals. Marie D. has also held positions at the Construction Specifications Institute and APICS-The Association for Operations Management, where they managed educational programs and developed multimedia training materials. Marie began their career as a Program Manager at World Learning, Inc. Overall, they have demonstrated strong leadership, budget management, and organizational skills throughout their career.

Marie D. Ternieden, Ed.D., IOM holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Italian from Saint Mary's College. Marie D. further pursued their education and obtained a Master's degree in International Development from The George Washington University. Marie continued their academic journey at the same institution and completed their Ed.D. in Education Policy and Administration, with a focus on International Education. In addition to their degrees, they have also obtained certifications as an ENV SP- Envision Sustainability Professional from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, and as an IOM- Institute for Organization Management from the US Chamber of Commerce.
