Jon Apilado is the Vice President and Controller at American Riviera Bank (arbv). Jon has over 14 years of experience in the banking industry, with a focus on managing liquidity, capital, profitability, pricing, financial modeling, and interest rate risk sensitivity.

Before joining American Riviera Bank, Jon was the Senior Vice President and Controller at Community West Bank from August 2007 to November 2021. In this role, they were responsible for leading the evaluation of team culture, business strategies, opportunities, innovation, project management, organizational performance, optimization, and efficiencies. Jon also reviewed and assessed product cost-benefit analyses, budgeting, forecasting, implementation, negotiation, deployment, and on-going performance.

Jon has a proven track record of success in managing financial models, supporting documentation, loan loss history, risk grading, forecasting and overall transformation of an incurred loss model to an expected loss model. Jon has also managed equity compensation, stock option and restricted stock plans, and common stock repurchase programs. In addition, they have led monthly close, financial reporting, risk analyses, budget-to-actual analyses, business unit strategic planning, and respective policies & procedures documentation.

Jon is an active member on several company committees including Leadership, Asset/Liability Balance Sheet Management, Product, IT Steering, Audit, and Crisis Management. Jon has also enhaced and implemented real-time financial and accounting processes, models, metrics, tools, and control systems.

Currently, Jon manages the annual salary bonus incentive budget, accruals, deferrals, payouts, and potential clawbacks. Jon also oversees accounting operations, accounts payable, vendor management and wire desk.

Jon Apilado attended the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, where they studied banking and financial support services. Jon then earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara. Jon later received certification from UCSB Extension in Professional Accounting.

They are on a team with Rechelle Ringer - First VP & Manager of Products & Marketing, Laurel Sykes - EVP, Chief Risk Officer, and Kylleen Wisham - VP & Digital Banking Manager. Jon Apilado reports to Jeff Devine, President & CEO.
