Julia Marchand has a diverse work experience in the field of research and evaluation. Julia started their career as a Project Manager for the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute as a Peace Corps volunteer from 1994 to 1996. Julia then worked as a Research Associate at the Education Development Center from 1997 to 2000, where they coordinated data collection for a school-based intervention and contributed to research papers. Julia also served as a Research Associate at the Center for Youth and Communities at Brandeis University from 2000 to 2003, where they gained experience in research and data analysis. Julia then joined McNeil Research and Evaluation Associates as a Senior Research Associate from 2003 to 2005, where they led field work and facilitated focus groups for a youth offender demonstration project. Julia then worked at Learning Point Associates as a Research Associate from 2006 to 2010. Currently, they are a Senior Researcher at the American Institutes for Research, where they design and implements evaluations of education and professional development programs, manages projects and teams, analyzes data, and writes reports.
Julia Marchand completed their undergraduate education from Princeton University from 1985 to 1989. Julia obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English Literature. Following that, they pursued their postgraduate studies at Tufts University from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Public Health Policy. In terms of additional certifications, Julia Marchand obtained a certification in Data Visualization: Storytelling from LinkedIn in January 2021.
