Mr. Shaw is a twenty-five year, retired veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department. He spent the majority of his career in the elite Metropolitan Division, consisting of S.W.A.T., counter-assault teams, K-9 units, underwater dive teams (UDT), and the very successful crime suppression detail.

As a Metropolitan Division Supervisor, Mr. Shaw also worked in conjunction with the U.S. Secret Service and Department of State overseeing personnel security and site protection for visiting Foreign Heads of State, the President and Vice-President of the United States (through six administrations), high profile politicians and crime witnesses, valuable property details and witness/officer security. In the Greater Los Angeles area, Mr. Shaw assisted in establishing the security of the homes and offices of many foreign dignitaries, including Counsel Generals of Canada and Turkey.

Mr. Shaw has participated in and led dozens of seminars regarding security protection, including the nationally renowned San Luis Obispo School of Terrorism, the United States Secret Service School of Personal Protection and the State of California School of Personal Protection. He was the co-founder and principal owner of Security Consultants where he established security protections, and planned, implemented and conducted security audits for residents, businesses, production companies and major corporations.

During the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, Mr. Shaw assisted in planning, implementing and overseeing the security needs for athletes housed at the Olympic Village on the campus of UCLA; as well, he personally led and supervised the counter-assault teams assigned to protect the athletes.

As a co-founder of SSA Security Group, Inc., he has established and overseen the security planning for McDonald’s Restaurants, American West Bank, the United States Credit Bureau, Alpharel Micro-Chip Manufacturing, the City of Fullerton Transportation Center, Mathews Studio Group, Inc. and numerous manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles and Ventura County.

Throughout the course of his law enforcement career, Mr. Shaw has received numerous honors including meritorious commendations for police and investigative work involving the successful resolution of many high-profile criminal cases. He is an active member of the following professional investigative and police officers organizations: ASIS, NCISS, SCFIA, NCFIA, CPOA, CALI and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He holds degrees in Business Management (BS) and Pubic Administration (MS) from Pepperdine University.
