Raeka Safai is a legal professional currently serving as the Deputy General Counsel for the American Foreign Service Association since May 2010, providing advice on laws, policies, and legislation affecting the Foreign Service and engaging in collective bargaining negotiations. Prior to this role, Raeka worked as an Attorney Advisor at Hannon Law Group, LLP, from August 2007 to January 2010, where representation in labor arbitrations and federal and state civil proceedings was provided. Raeka holds a JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, as well as a BS in French Business Languages from the University of Maryland. Recent educational achievements include a Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from The Wharton School and a CIPP/US certification in Data Privacy Law from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Additionally, a Certificate in Comparative International Law was obtained from Jagiellonian University in 2005.
