Lindsey Rust has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Lindsey began their career as a Corps Member for Teach For America in 2003 and continued in this role until 2005. In 2005, they joined the GEO Foundation as an Associate Director and stayed until 2008. During this time, they also worked as a State Field Director for All Children Matter from 2008 to 2009. In 2008, Rust became the Executive Director for School Choice Indiana and held this position until 2013. Simultaneously, they served as the Policy Director for Hoosiers for Economic Growth from 2008 to 2013. Rust then transitioned to the American Federation for Children in 2013 and has held multiple roles within the organization, including National Director of Implementation from 2013 to 2022 and Senior Director of State Investments from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they are the Director of Operations at the American Federation for Children.
Lindsey Rust obtained their M.Ed. degree from Saint Joseph's University in 2005. Prior to that, they attended Indiana University Bloomington from 1999 to 2003, but their specific degree or field of study during that time is unknown.
