Marlon Pragnell PhD has extensive work experience in the field of research, specifically focusing on diabetes and genetic diseases. From 2021, they have been serving as the Vice President of Research & Science at the American Diabetes Association. Prior to this, they took a sabbatical from July 2020 to May 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From 2010 to 2020, Marlon held various roles at JDRF International, including Associate Director of Research and Senior Scientific Program Manager. Marlon also worked at Genzyme from 1999 to 2007, serving as Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist in the field of endocrine and metabolic diseases. Marlon began their career in 1996 at Integrated Genetics as a Scientist in Genetics and Genomics.
Marlon Pragnell PhD completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Molecular Biophysics at Columbia University from 1994 to 1996. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Iowa, from 1988 to 1994.
