Johnitha H. serves as the Executive Director at Northern Virginia Juvenile Det since June 2017 and has extensive experience in corrections and public safety. Johnitha H. has also been a Certified PREA Auditor for the Department of Justice since February 2015, focusing on preventing sexual abuse in confinement settings. As an Auditor for the American Correctional Association since April 2014 and a member of the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force since April 2010, Johnitha H. is committed to combating human trafficking and serving survivors. Previous roles include Superintendent at the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services and Correctional Officer at the Virginia Department of Corrections. Johnitha H. holds a Master of Science in Management with a focus on Public Safety Leadership from The Johns Hopkins University and additional qualifications in business and corrections administration.
