TJ Barton has a diverse work experience. TJ started working in 1998 as a Boatswains Mate 1st Class / Surfman in the U.S. Coast Guard and served until 2008. In 2004, they became the President of American Concrete Inc, a position they still hold. In 2016, they became the Managing Member of RTB Investments, LLC. In 2019, they founded Barton Concrete Products and became its President/Founder. Most recently, in 2020, they became a Partner at Magnolia Luxury Pools.

TJ Barton has a diverse education history. Between 2001 and 2006, TJ attended American Military University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Military Intelligence with a concentration in Terrorism and Counterterrorism. Prior to this, between 1996 and 1998, TJ studied at Georgia Southern University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.

In addition to their formal education, TJ has obtained certifications in the field of concrete technology. They received the NRMCA Certified Concrete Technologist Level 4 certification from the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association in January 2013.
