Carlos Gavilanes is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in administration and international relations. Currently serving as an Administrator for the American Battle Monuments Commission since September 2021, Carlos previously worked as a Spanish Interpreter for Check Defense, LLC, where effective communication was facilitated between Spanish-speaking clients and English-speaking staff. Additionally, Carlos gained valuable management experience as the International Port Security Manager at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, overseeing regional teams and analyzing maritime threats. Past roles also include supervision of the Coast Guard Vessel Safety Program and serving as a Military Attache, where international cooperation was fostered. Carlos holds a Master of Business Administration in Global Management from the University of Phoenix.
