Alexander Dettloff has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, currently serving as the State Foundations Engineer at the Ohio Department of Transportation since October 2000. In this role, Alexander leads the Foundations and Retaining Walls Section, overseeing the design and review process for structural foundations and retaining walls for highway projects across Ohio. Responsibilities include policy development and participation in the AASHTO CBS T-15 Committee, focusing on specifications for bridge substructures and retaining walls. Previous positions at the Ohio Department of Transportation involved various aspects of geotechnical design and operations, contributing to publications, research initiatives, and advanced engineering methodologies. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
