Tyler Pointer currently serves as the Director of Communications & PR at the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) since September 2023. Previously, Tyler was the Director of Communications for the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists (TxANA) from August 2021 to September 2023, where responsibilities included overseeing state-wide communications and advocacy efforts for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in Texas. Earlier experience also includes roles as Marketing and Communications Manager for the Texas Chiropractic Association, Content Marketing Coordinator for IBT Apps®, Chapter President of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Writer/Marketing Communications Assistant at Sam Houston State University, Public Relations and Marketing Intern at the Houston Symphony, and Segment Producer for The Underreported. Tyler holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Sam Houston State University, with a minor in Spanish.
