Senior Scientific Program Administrator at American Association For Cancer Research

Garima Singh's work experience includes a role as a Senior Scientific Program Administrator at the American Association for Cancer Research starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Thomas Jefferson University from 2015 to 2022, where they held positions as an Assistant Professor and Instructor in Research Excellence. In these roles, they oversaw the design, budgeting, and execution of research projects related to lead-induced neurotoxicity and its impact on neurodevelopmental and epigenomic outcomes. Garima also conducted investigations into the effect of lead exposure on the epitranscriptome in specific brain regions. Before joining Thomas Jefferson University, Garima worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Cancer Institute from 2013 to 2015. During this time, their research focused on epigenetics and chromatin-based splicing regulation, particularly the role of the epigenetic modifier TET protein in CTCF/DNA methylation-dependent splicing switch in immune cells. Garima also developed new tools for splicing analysis. Garima's earliest work experience was as a Research Assistant at the National Institute of Immunology from 2006 to 2009.

Garima Singh completed a Ph.D. in Molecular and Human Genetics from the NII - National Institute of Immunology between 2009 and 2013. Prior to that, they earned an M.S. in Molecular and Human Genetics from Banaras Hindu University, Banaras, from 2004 to 2006. Garima'sundergraduate education was also at Banaras Hindu University, where they obtained a B.S. in Zoology (Honors) from 2001 to 2004.
