Helen Viksnins has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Helen held various roles at the American Academy Of Optometry, including Vice President of Education & Professional Relations and Senior Director of Programs from 1999 to the present. Helen also served as the Director of 3x3 Katskili from 2011 to 2018. Helen worked as a Music Programmer for Sophie's Parlor at WPFW from 2008 to 2011. Helen was a Founding Member of Sudrabavots from 2000 to 2011 and served as a Board Member for the Takoma Theater Conservancy in 2010. Helen contributed to the Professional Development Section Council and served as a Volunteer Leader for the American Society of Association Executives from 2004 to 2010. Helen Viksnins has an extensive education history, starting with a Bachelor of Science in International Humanities from Georgetown University, which they earned from 1979 to 1984. Following this, from 1984 to 1985, they pursued an MFA in Playwriting at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. In 1985 to 1986, Helen obtained a Certificate in Languages with a focus on Latvian from Western Michigan University. Finally, they completed their education with a Master of Education in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University, attending from 1995 to 1997.
