Megan Moriarty is a veteran healthcare communications professional with a keen interest in how technology can improve and transform healthcare.
Megan brings 14 years of experience working across the healthcare spectrum, which includes marketing legal services related to the HITECH Act, managing corporate communications for a publicly traded global health care IT leader, and handling media relations and spokesperson training for one of the largest national membership associations representing primary care physicians.
Megan is a media relations veteran, having secured placements for her clients in trade publications like Modern Healthcare, national daily newspapers like The New York Times, and broadcast programs like NPR’s All Things Considered and Marketplace. She has regularly worked with reporters for print and online outlets to provide credible, expert sources to delivery key messages on various healthcare issues and topics.
Prior to joining Amendola, Megan was a public relations strategist with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). She led proactive and reactive media relations for federal advocacy efforts and the AAFP’s Alliance for eHealth Innovation, which focuses on improving the use of health IT in the primary care setting.
Before joining the AAFP, Megan was part of the public relations team at Cerner Corporation, where she handled earned media efforts for the publicly traded company. During her time with Cerner she trained spokespersons, consulted internal teams and provided strategic media relations planning, managed on-site press events and coordinated major corporate announcements including product launches and acquisitions.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, with an emphasis in strategic communications.
