Nuno Oliveira has extensive work experience in waste management and environmental engineering. Nuno started their career as a Senior Engineer at Câmara Municipal de Lisboa in 1998 and later became the Office Coordinator, responsible for coordinating a team of 13 members and implementing selective waste collection in the city. In 2009, they joined Amarsul - Valorização e Tratamento de Resíduos Sólidos, SA as Head of Division.

Nuno Oliveira has an educational background in Industrial Engineering and Management. In 1992, they enrolled at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where they pursued a Degree in Industrial Engineering which focused on subjects such as Production Management, Logistics, Quality, Economic Engineering, Technology, and Information Systems. After completing their degree in 1997, Nuno Oliveira returned to the same university in 2012 to continue their education. Nuno pursued an Integrated Master in Industrial Engineering and Management with a specialization in Logistics, Economic Engineering, Technology, and Information Systems.
