Aleli Alcala began their career in 2003 as the Director of Development, East Coast for the University of Michigan. In 2007, they joined Blackbaud as a Client Partner. In 2011, they joined the Participatory Culture Foundation, where they served as Chief Operations & Sustainability Officer, Board Member, VP of Sustainability, and Director of Sustainability. In 2017, they joined Amara Subtitling as the Chief Operations Officer.

Aleli Alcala attended the University of Washington from 1978 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications.
