Caitlin McHugh serves as a Bioinformatics Scientist at the Alzheimer's Disease Data Initiative and as an Associate Director at Gates Ventures since May 2021. Previously, Caitlin worked as a Research Scientist in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington School of Public Health from July 2018 to May 2021, focusing on association methods and statistical optimizations for large datasets. Caitlin's experience includes a tenure as a BioData Catalyst Fellow at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, where statistical methods for genetic association testing were developed, and roles as a Senior Bioinformatics Analyst at the New York Genome Center, as well as a research position at the University of Washington. Caitlin holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Washington, a Master of Science in Applicable Mathematics from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Seattle University.
