Xia Li, Ph.D., is a Principal Scientist I at Altria since November 2022, focusing on product development and absorption/permeation studies. Previously, Xia served as a Senior Scientist II and Principal Scientist at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, leading the development of methods for assessing permeation enhancers and enhancing production test capabilities for tobacco samples using HPLC-MS/MS and GC-MS. Xia's earlier experience includes managing projects and conducting advanced experiments as an Instructor and Lab Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University, where significant work involved gene expression regulation in sickle cell anemia and β-thalassemia. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Xia investigated ion channel mechanisms in inflammasomes and potential therapeutic targets in multiple sclerosis and cancer immunology. Xia holds a Ph.D. in Human & Molecular Genetics from Fudan University and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from China Jiliang University.
