Ana Romero, PhD, is a Senior Packaging Engineer II focused on sustainability at Altria since March 2022, where responsibilities include developing packaging sustainability infrastructure and strategy and leading multidisciplinary projects. Prior to this role, Ana served as a Research Specialist at Clemson University from August 2014 to March 2022, conducting research on food and sustainable packaging and designing prototypes to support business initiatives. Ana's experience also includes food and beverage procurement and quality assurance roles at LOCATEL FRANQUICIA BOLIVAR, a research assistant position at Universidad de Costa Rica, and internships at Walmart and CCSS. Ana holds a PhD in Packaging Science and a Master's Degree in Food, Nutrition, and Culinary Sciences from Clemson University, along with a Licentiate Degree in Nutrition and a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from Universidad de Costa Rica.
