Peter Zaitsev has an extensive work experience in the database industry. In 2006, they co-founded Percona and served as its Founder and CEO. In 2017, they co-founded Altinity and served as a Co-Founder and Member of the Board. In 2021, they joined the Board of MigOps and co-founded FerretDB, where they also serve as a Member of the Board. In 2009, they co-founded Ivinco and served as its Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board. In 2021, they became an Advisor at Tigris Data Inc. In 2019, they became an Advisor at EdgeDB. In 2007, they joined the Board of Sphinx Technologies Inc. and in 2009, they co-founded and served on the Board of the Open Database Alliance. Finally, in 2007, they served on the Advisory Board of Schooner Information Technology, Inc.

Peter Zaitsev obtained a Masters in Computer Science from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) between 1996 and 2001.
