Paolo Ciresa is a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer, currently employed at Alstom since February 2021 and having previously held the same title at BOMBARDIER from September 2007 to February 2021. At BOMBARDIER, Paolo contributed to the Rolling Stock Equipment department and led the Structural Engineering team in Winterthur, focusing on bogies. Prior to this, Paolo served as a Teaching Assistant at ETH Zurich, assisting with a practical course on wave propagation in rods and a mechanics lecture, as well as undertaking an industrial internship at Empa, where the focus was on the development of large-area Electroactive Polymer shell actuators. Educational qualifications include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich, completed between 2002 and 2007.
