Allan Scherr has a strong background in leadership, organizational culture, executive coaching, project management, and software development. Allan founded ALS Consulting in 2001 and has been its owner and leader since 2002. Prior to that, Allan was the Sr. VP of Software Engineering at EMC from 1994 to 2001, where they managed a 250-person engineering group responsible for storage management integrated solutions. Allan also spent a significant portion of their career at IBM Corporation, starting in 1965. During their time at IBM, Allan led major development projects, contributed to the definition of the virtual storage architecture of System/370, and led the creation of IBM's mainframe time sharing strategy.
Allan Scherr completed their undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a period spanning from 1958 to 1965. In 1989, they also completed the Global Leadership Program in International Business at the University of Michigan.
