Karen Caines, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP is an experienced HR professional with a diverse background. Karen is currently serving as the Chief People Officer at AlphaBEST Education, Inc. Since 1999, Karen has been an active member of the WINSTON-SALEM SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, where they have held various roles including President and Past Board Member. From 2013, Karen has also been working as an Independent Contractor, providing HR strategy consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses. Karen Caines, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they obtained from 1989 to 1993. Karen later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix, completing it between 2014 and 2016. In terms of certifications, Karen obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation from the HR Certification Institute in December 2000. Karen also earned the Management Development Program certification from Goodwill Industries International in December 2007. Additionally, Karen obtained the SHRM-CP (Certified Professional) credential from the Society for Human Resource Management in January 2015.
