Johan Kortas has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Johan has held various roles in different companies across different industries.
In the early stages of their career, Kortas worked at Philips in roles such as Product Manager, Project Manager, and Key Account & Program Manager. Johan was responsible for developing innovative digital communication systems and managing projects for large digital pay-TV operators.
Later, Kortas joined Mindstorm Interactive, where they served as the Business Development & Marketing Manager. Johan played a key role in driving product marketing, sales partnerships, and key accounts for interactive surface solutions in various industries.
Kortas then transitioned to KoMind, where they held multiple roles, including Owner/Founder and Innovation Consultant. Johan was involved in strategic business development, acceleration services, and product innovation consultancy for start-ups and scale-ups in the digital health and well-being sector.
In 2014, Kortas joined imec as a Senior Business Development Manager. Johan oversaw international business development, partnerships, and contract management for wearable health tech and solutions, contributing to advancements in nanoelectronics and flexible electronics.
Kortas also worked as an Innovation Consultant at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, providing consulting and business partnering in ICT-Health-technology projects and mentoring ICT students.
In recent years, Kortas has been actively involved in the digital well-being sector. Johan served as the Action Line Leader for Digital Wellbeing in Europe at EIT Digital, where they drove the strategy and innovation portfolio for digital well-being initiatives.
Currently, Kortas is the Co-founder of AlphaBeats, where they focus on providing EEG-based mental training to guide elite athletes into a flow state for improved performance. AlphaBeats utilizes biofeedback and personalized music to help individuals relax and manage stress.
Throughout their career, Kortas has demonstrated expertise in business development, innovation, and strategic management in the technology and health sectors.
Johan Kortas completed their Master of Business Marketing degree from TIAS School for Business and Society between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, they attended the Royal Military Academy from 1985 to 1986, where they obtained a degree as an Officer in the field of Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering. In addition, Johan pursued their Master of Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunication and industrial management at Eindhoven University of Technology, but the exact start year is unknown, they completed it in 1984.
