Scott Knight has extensive experience in the technology and business world. Scott began their career in 2004 as a Medical Research Assistant at the University of Iowa Neurology Department. In 2009, they moved to Caelum Capital Advisors LLC as an Assistant Portfolio Manager. In 2010, they became a Software Engineer at It's a Small Planet. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Software Engineer at Stauffer Consulting Services, where they worked with clients such as SpaceX, Skechers, Pivot, and Kids in the House. In 2015, they became the CEO of both Up North and FoggyTrail. At Up North, they partnered with clients to create technology-led solutions, products, and teams that propel innovation and growth. At FoggyTrail, they built an online community marketplace connecting hunters and anglers with private landowners and businesses. In 2016, they were a Lead Engineering Consultant at Billboard and from 2013 to 2019, they were a Lead Software Engineer at Participant Media, TakePart, and Pivot. During this time, they increased backend performance by 400%, automated deployments, and enhanced the quality of code.

Scott Knight attended Iowa State University from 2004 to 2006, where they studied Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Scott then transferred to the University of Iowa, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in 2009, with a major in Finance and a minor in Mechanical Engineering.
