Chris Schmidt

Director of Asset Management at Alpha Investing

Chris Schmidt has worked in the field of asset management since 2018, beginning as the Director of Asset Management for The Clear Blue Company. In 2013 they moved to Books A Million / Preferred Growth Properties, where they served as the Real Estate Manager / Site Development Manager. In this role, they were responsible for owner's representation and project management of real estate development projects totaling $137 million, all of which were completed within time constraints and $1.8 million under budget in total.

Prior to their work in asset management, Chris held a variety of roles at The University of Alabama. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the University Transportation Center for Alabama, where they developed a microsimulation model of the US 280 corridor and created a preliminary report of traffic flow patterns for ALDOT using BlueTOAD collected data. Chris was also a Press Relations and Marketing Student Assistant for the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, and a Cooperative Education Ambassador. In 2011, they served as an Intern for Creative Campus, where they led teams of interns in brainstorming, creating, and executing projects and events, planned and publicized a gallery exhibit opening, and created branding and advertising for in-house use and for university clients.

Finally, from 2010 to 2012, Chris worked as a Co-op for M. J. Harris Construction Services, LLC, where they evaluated site safety and construction build quality, supervised labor crews, and collaborated with co-workers and the design team to monitor construction progress.

Chris is currently employed as the Director of Asset Management for Alpha Investing.

Chris Schmidt obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2013. Chris then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2017.
