Kevin Aleman

Engineering Manager at Almanac

Kevin Aleman is an experienced software engineer and engineering manager who has worked for Microsoft and Human, Inc. Kevin is currently the engineering manager at Almanac.

Aleman started their career at Microsoft as a software engineer in April 2017. Kevin worked in the M365 Growth space, managing a team of 6-8 developers who worked on a web service + client application that supports millions of users a day in a critical point of the Windows setup experience. This service hosted APIs that empowered multiple applications across Windows + Office, serving millions of requests per day, and the React client application functioned as a platform for our team and multiple other Microsoft partners to quickly and easily spin up new web-delivered experiences inside of Windows applications.

In August 2016, Aleman left Microsoft to join Human, Inc. as a software engineer. At Human, Aleman did a little bit of everything, from Python scripting for data analysis and marketing, to architecting, prototyping, and building web services for data-intensive applications using Go and Node.js, to identifying and providing solutions for bugs in our partner companies' web applications. But their main focus at Human was the architecture, design, and deployment of iOS applications in Swift that communicate with BLE devices (CoreBluetooth) and multiple web services.

Aleman left Human in March 2017 to join Almanac as their engineering manager.

Kevin Aleman graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Kevin Aleman reports to Eddie Wu, Head, Engineering. They are on a team with Gabriel Hernandez - Engineer, Jasmine Feldmann - Engineering Lead, and Andreza Feu - Software Engineer.
