Sean Burke currently serves as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Alma College, a position held since May 2023. Prior to this role, Sean Burke was an Associate Professor of Religion at Luther College from August 2007 to May 2023, teaching a variety of courses, including Sacred Texts and Religious Diversity. In addition to their teaching, Sean Burke held administrative responsibilities as Associate Dean and Director of Faculty Development. Sean Burke contributed to the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa as a Priest-in-Residence at St. James' Episcopal Church from October 2007 to October 2021 and served on the Board of Directors and Disciplinary Board. Sean Burke earned a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies: New Testament from the Graduate Theological Union, a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Judeo-Christian Heritage from Concordia College-New York.
