Steve McCain is an experienced professional in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as the Additive Manufacturing Machine Manager at Alloyed since June 2020. Prior to this role, Steve held the position of Senior Development Engineer at Renishaw from March 2016 to March 2020. A research fellow at the University of Birmingham from July 2011 to March 2016, Steve contributed to the Accelerated Metallurgy Project. Earlier experience includes work as a Research Assistant at the same institution from May 2009 to May 2011, focusing on the AACG project. Steve McCain earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Birmingham, where coursework took place from 2005 to 2009, and also obtained a Master of Research (MRes) in the same field in 2005.
