Etienne Schmelzer, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Data Engineer at Alloy Therapeutics, Inc., where responsibilities include designing and building a data lake and developing ingestion pipelines for biological data. Previously, Etienne held various positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, including Data Engineer, where direct contact with executive leadership involved translating business challenges into technical projects and designing data flows for the Clinical Trial Division. As a Lead Developer, Etienne contributed to the DaVinci project and addressed challenges such as automating information distribution networks. Additionally, experience as a Postdoctoral and Doctoral Researcher at Biozentrum, University of Basel, involved developing tools for high-resolution imaging of zebrafish embryos and establishing the CRISPR/Cas9 method. Etienne holds a PhD in Cell Biology, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in related fields from the University of Basel.
